Dad Always Said to Wear a Few Hats...
Kiya is strong woman with a passion for TRUTH. In her acting work, relationships, business dealings and in life, she longs to be the type of person that people respect for staying true to what she believes. Embarking on this project was a step in that direction. Though a controversial and touchy subject matter, she feels it is an issue that maintains relevance and deserves a truthful approach. Kiya, though the epitome of a girly girl who doesn't hesitate to let a man be a man, is however, a major 'Girl Power' advocate, who strives to devote her time and energy to creating projects and roles that emphasize that stance. As a writer, she is committed to that same cause, with her first full-length stage play, (due out Summer 2014), centering around a STRONG all-female ensemble cast.

"Why is the Black Woman Angry?" is just the tip of the iceberg for this rising actor/writer/director. "I never thought I would be a multi-hyphenate!!" says Kiya, "I just wanted to ACT! But with age comes wisdom, & in my years spent in Hollywood, I've learned that no role will EVER be more truthful for me than the one I can create for myself." With that said in her own words, the next time you see Kiya Roberts, know that this driven young multi-hyphenate is more than meets the eye.

Kiya Roberts is the co-creator of "Why is the Black Woman Angry?" Though a trained actress with a diverse talent range, this is her first time playing the role of director/producer. When the idea first surfaced, the first and only person she thought to take it to, who would equally share her passion for the subject, was her longtime friend and venting partner, fellow actress, Farelle Walker. And so, the production partnership began.
