Am I the only one who wanted to be in a singing group in Junior High? I can't be! I mean, we used to sing EVERYWHERE...parking garages, elevators, BATHROOMS, in the car, ON 3-Way! I grew up in the Mecca of the girl group era! TLC, EnVogue, Salt-N-Pepa, Mokenstef, Changing Faces, Voices, Brownstone, SWV, Xscape, 702, Allure...I could go forever! LOL!
Maybe that's why I find it SO intriguing & exciting that Gina Prince-Bythewood decided to focus on the REAL lives behind the female pop icon in her new movie Beyond the Lights. I was already obessesed with the breakout actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Belle, Undercovers), & Nate Parker is one of my faves, being from my home state! Ms. Bythewood, is a brilliant writer and honestly, since Love & Basketball, ANYTHING she does I will support! Check out my blog post on her take on the state of Black Hollywood...VERY interesting!

A few days ago, while having lunch with a friend of mine, I couldn’t help but notice a couple sitting outside eating as well. I couldn’t take my eyes off of them because they were so OBVIOUSLY in love! All at once, it was the most beautiful and depressing thing to see. Beautiful, because they were unapologetically enveloped in each other, with blatant disregard for opinions or stares from others. They BOTH could have cared less about....
No seriously! Ever since I started using Dr. Bronner’s line of washes, I have noticed a CRAZY difference in my skin!! I even traded in my regular hand soap for a smaller bottle of the Peppermint scented lather!!
There is no better feeling than the tingle of refreshed and stimulated pores all over your body after a shower or bath! Think about how everything “mint” is about refreshing and rejuvenating!! Now....
Sometimes, to help me fall asleep, (cause I have no man to cuddle with at night!! *dramatic tears*), I'll turn on something boring or that I've already seen on Netflix.
Last night was one of those nights.
